Our world is changing and our children must be able to adapt to a future of technological advances and increased globalization. The Aliquippa School District must support these needs of our students as we face increased regulations and mandates while remaining fiscally responsible.

The Aliquippa School District has completed a district-wide feasibility study conducted by Burt Hill, Inc., a Butler, PA architectural firm. Several key factors were examined including enrollment trends, age and condition of the facilities as well as current and future education needs.

The Aliquippa School District Board of Education has determined that to meet the needs of our students, the District will realign grades resulting in two buildings from the current three buildings. The new alignment will result in the Aliquippa Elementary School (formerly New Sheffield School) hosting grades K-6. The current middle school will become the Aliquippa Jr.-Sr. High School hosting grades 7-12. The high school, which was built in 1924, will be demolished. A public meeting will be held in the near future to present the plans.
