Making It Real
We would like to invite you to become a partner in your child’s learning experiences. We believe that your involvement will help your child to attain a higher level of academic success. A partnership between home and school will provide your child with a wealth of learning opportunities that will last a lifetime.
Beginning on March 4, 2010, we are offering 4 parent trainings. There is no cost involved in these trainings, and supper will be provided. The trainings will be offered on the following dates: March 4, 2010; March 11, 2010; March 18, 2010; and March 25, 2010. We will meet in the cafeteria. The trainings will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. Supper will be from 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. The trainings will address the various reading and math anchors and skills that your child will need to be proficient on the upcoming PSSA. You will receive specific information about the upcoming PSSA, math and reading standards, and scoring of PSSA items. You will gain experience and strategies that you can use to help your child at home. There will be many opportunities for you to become an adult ‘learner’ as the teachers create hands-on experiences for you to take home and share with your child. Each family in attendance will receive participation points for each session attended. Points will also be awarded for: bringing another parent, completing ‘take-home’ asssignments with your child, and participation in discussions. Prizes will be drawn at the last session. We look forward to your participation in our “Making It Real” sessions. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Tracey Heinlein (ext. 4111) or Mrs. Joie Dusold (ext. 4214). Let’s work together to help your child succeed!
Please understand that this is a parent training. Child care will not be provided. J Last Modified on February 16, 2010
